Want to add a download to our system? Or did your download not get approved? Take a look at this guide!

The 5 questions we will ask ourselves when checking a mod are:

1, Are the links correct?
Check that you have either linked directly to the zip/rar/exe, or to the download page of this item.

PLEASE NOTE: You may not link to a download which requires registration to view or download, for example a mod on another forum.

2, Does the mod have everything it needs?
Double check that the mod has all the textures, .i3d, .xml etc etc and check the .xml files have no errors.

3, What does the mod look like?
Make sure you include a picture. Use the "Forum Thumbnail code" from www.imageshack.us

4, Who made the mod?
ALWAYS put credits. Don't just put the website you found it on, and never put "Unknown" - if you don't know, don't upload it. This is a major copyright requirement, i certainly do NOT want to find myself in trouble for having mods without correct copyright information.

If the mod is yours, is all the work your own? If any textures, models, scripts or sounds were created by somone else, you must get their permission first, and list them as a contributor in the credits.

and finally

5, Has this mod already been uploaded? (maybe under another name?)
Check and double check. There's nothing more annoying that downloading the same thing twice.

So, if your download answers those questions, then it will be approved! Have fun!

There have been a couple of conflicts concerning number 4 in the post above. Can I remind everyone again to make sure that you add credits.

Modifications to existing mods.

If you make any modifications at all, GET THE ORIGINAL CREATOR'S PERMISSION FIRST. Don't come crying to us if your download gets reported because you uploaded it without getting the original creator's permission. Remember it is THEIR mod, not yours so they might not be as eager as you to release an alternative version of it.

If you do get permission for modifications, and you want to upload them, make sure to add in the description who the original creator(s) is, and list ALL modifications made by you.

If you stick to these guidelines then hopefully everyone will be happy, and we will not have to deal with any more cases like this.

Editing Mods
If you are uploading a mod you have edited, please state what you have changed. Don't just put 'Edited by XXXXX' And remember to add the original modder in the credits. Any mods which don't follow this will not be approved.

Open Source
If your mod uses open source parts, the parts you use must stay open source. Remember to include this banner:

Uploading.com

From now on we will not approve any downloads using this site. This is due to problems that many members have encountered with the site, we don't want to link to a download site that doesn't work. If you want a good alternative, I recommend www.filefront.com and www.uploaded.to
