im not sure if there is already a topic for this there may be, but i couldnt find it so...

first of all you need to extract your map(im my case modsource map v5), it helps if you extract the map into a empty folder for ease of zipping it back together

you will will be presented with this in your folder, next you have to open the map01.i3d circled in red open the map01.i3d into notepad or notepad c++

next you need to search for the line you want to edit so you click on, search in the top left cornor then find and in the box that appears on screen search for foliagesublayer

then when you have searched for this, you need to find this part <FoliageSubLayer name="grass", then go all the way to the end of the line and yo will find this

growthStateTime="1.8e+006"/> you need to change these numbers to edit the growth rate, im not exactly sure what the time scale is on this but i believe growthStateTime="4.5e+007"/> will give 750minutes before the grass re-grows

once you have done this you then need to compress all the files into a zip folder place it back in the mods folder of ls11 then off you go Smiley REMEMBER all your friends have to have the exact same map for this to work in multiplayer so it may be best you send it them once you have done it
hope there isnt already one and i didnt find it

and thanks to STAINBY for helping me to do this in the first place
hope this helps
claasjaguar870

EDIT just realised i didnt put this in tutorials and guides if  this is any good can one of the moderators move it there please

here are the times

500 milliseconds = 0,5 second
1000 ms = 1,0 second
10000 ms = 10 second
100000 ms = 1,66 minute
1000000 ms = 16,6 minute
2000000 ms = 33,3 minute
4000000 ms = 1,11 hour

15 minute = 900000 milliseconds
30 minute = 1800000 ms
45 minute = 2700000 ms
60 minute = 3600000 ms
75 minute = 4500000 ms
90 minute = 5400000 ms

18 hours = 64800000 milliseconds
24 hours = 86400000 milliseconds

See my post http://www.ls-uk.info/forum/index.php?topic=54690.0. It also shows how to alter crop heights to be more realistic

Whats the formula for the increased grass growth?
I mean, growthStateTime="1.8e+006 is the original time, but how many minutes is this?

The growth time with all the other types of crop is listed in ms.
For example my map has 900 000 as the original growth time. Which works out to about 15 min.

So far i have found 3 threads that deal with this problem, but neither explains how you figure out a custom growth time for grass

I usually spend about a week tweaking the growth rate, so i need to be able to change it a little.

How would it look if i wanted say, 500 min?
or 250?
or 375?

I know i am asking very specifically, and i hope i don't seem rude, because that isn't my intent.

Can the grass number be changed to the same as wheat, barley etc? or will that crash the game?

Well.. you need to recalculate a bit i think Smiley
4.5e+007 = 450 000 000 milliseconds = 450 000 seconds (according to google) divided by 60 is 7500 minutes = 125 (real) hours = 5 days, 5 hours

Your formula is right on but you messed up on the math a little.  4.5e+007 = 45,000,000 you move the . 7 places to the right not 7 0's  just wanted to make this known so people didn't get too confused but thanks a lot for the info it did help a lot

Yes this does work for grass as well, in both ls09 and ls11. The number you enter is in milliseconds so 1000 equals 1 minute of playing time. Below are some other values -
500ms= 0,5s

1000ms= 1,0s

10000ms=10s

100000ms= 1,66min

1000000ms=16,6min

2000000ms=33,3 min

4000000ms= 1,11h

21600000= 6h

15min=900000ms

30min=1800000ms

45min=2700000ms

60min=3600000ms

75min=4500000ms

90min=5400000ms

Remember these values are playing time (real time) so how quickly things grow in the game will depend on the game speed you are using .

This is the correct way to add the growth times for LS2011, all have worked perfect for me. Wink

LS2011.

15min=9.0e+06
30min=1.8e+006
45min=2.7e+006
60min=3.6e+006
75min=4.5e+006
90min=5.5e+006

60min=3600000ms so times that by 24 which is = 86400000.

you dont have to use the 1,8e=006 type code as it recognises the ms numbers just as well..
